Modivation of a Monster

Why? Why do dictatators kill inncont people and manipulate the lives of the common man? The simple awnser-

Fear.

I believe that those tyranical leaders who use fear to control people are actually terrified themselves. They are at some point in their life currupted by fear.

For example Adolf Hitler grew up in an opresive home, where is father beat him and two of his brothers passed away. While he was still young his mother and father died of different illnesses. At some point in his life the young Adolf must have felt like he had lost all control. Fear of another tragedy made him insecure and in deep pain. He must have decided at some point that he would regain control, life could not make him small. So he stepped up running from the fear towards power. Really he was feeding that anger towards life, raging to stay in control. Whatever it took. Even if it meant the genocide of a race he felt threatened by. He was afraid.

1984

George Orwells novel 1984 is a futuristic fiction novel, its purpose being to show the terrors of living in a dictatiorship where the government really as compelte control, even over your thougts. The novel is from the perspective of a man named winston, who secretly questions the government (Big Brother), although he can't show it. His job is to go back and edit documents, history, literature all to the satisfaction of the government and destroying the original copies. As the novel progessses, Winston makes one of the biggest rebellions against the government, that is he falls in love and has sex. Winston realizes that he will eventully be caught, tortured and then killed but he contines to meet with this woman because he finds that a life withought her is not better then being dead. Eventully he thinks he has found an underground society against the government and he wants to be involved. He is eventully caught and tortured beyond belief, once broken down an brainwashed he goes back out into society. The point of this novel is the dangers of pursuing a utopian society, and the type of government that rules with fear.
